- Bir tea factory: Bir co-operative, it offers eco-tours for those interested in learning about the process and nuances of tea production. Added bonus is a great tour of gorgeous and fragrant tea plantations!
- Chokling Monastery: Located in Chowgan, this gorgeous monastery with an impressive stupa at its gate, regularly opens seminars on Buddhist discourse for the public.
- Take a stroll at one of the previously privately owned tea gardens of Chowan.
- Friends Cafe- It is located right in the heart of the Choughan Village market is the small restaurant which has few seats inside & few of which are outside where there is the view of the road & the people passing. The restaurant is run by one person who is the cook, waiter & cashier. If there are already too many people then it is best to come some other day.
- Himalayan Cafe- Located right in front of Friends Cafe on the 2st floor, it has both dine in & dine out in the balcony option. The restaurant is run by 2 Tibetan women who not only have a good nature but also make yummy momos, fried vegetables, rice & other tibetan food. Many people highly appreciate the non-vegetarian food they had here.
- 99 Not Out- it is again a one-man restaurant with a dine-in experience. It is located close to the Landing site at Bir & serves delicious value for money. Must try the shakes made by him!
