I often write about cycling shorts and related topics, like stuff reviews. Why? I am not only a developer but also a cyclist. Why do I enjoy cycling so much? There are many reasons. I can only mention a few. Though it isn’t a complete list, it may help you to understand why I do certain things and why I make certain decisions and not others. I am also open to your opinions and observations.
During the pandemic, many people have discovered a new love of cycling. As it is healthy, distanced, and outdoor, cycling has taken off since the pandemic. Several people were looking for a new hobby, while others were brushing off the cobwebs of an old friend. All of them discovered what dedicated cyclists already knew, that biking is fun! Some of the best cycling blogs will enhance your knowledge and take you on some awesome rides.
When I didn’t feel like getting on the bike and was feeling low, I would get out there and see the sky and birds and the endorphins would kick in. In a way, cycling can be quite spiritual, a time to reflect. Since I was actually cycling quite a bit a week, I decided to set myself a challenge to ride 1,000 miles in a year for charity. I didn’t cycle for very long, I didn’t go fast, and I didn’t cycle in the wind, the wind scares me. On a nice day, I would enjoy a longer ride.
Exploration & Adventure
Our favorite part of cycling is the sense of adventure and exploration that comes along with it. You can access trails and areas that cars cannot reach on a bike. Cycling gives you breathtaking views.
Affordability
Basically, anyone can do it. Riding a bike doesn’t require you to be a great athlete. You can take your time and go at your own pace.
Opportunities for charitable giving
Cycling presents numerous opportunities for doing good for the world. You can ride in many cycling events and fundraisers that will benefit some great organizations and causes.
This is good for the environment
The benefits of cycling extend not just to us, but to our environment as well. If you choose a bike over a car, you protect the environment from harmful pollution and gas-related emissions.
It’s just for fun!
All of these reasons make it obvious how much fun cycling is! While staying in shape and doing good for others and the environment, you can have an adventure. Get on your bike and go!
When did I begin to enjoy biking?
At the age of three, I fell in love with cycling. My first bike, a blue Raleigh with stabilizers, was hidden in a cupboard when I was a kid. When I found it, I was overjoyed. It may still be my most significant birthday gift. In my memory, my Dad was running behind me when the stabilizers came off two weeks later, and he didn’t tell me he’d let go as I carried on without falling. That was it. I remember many childhood crashes, including when my best friend and I decided that it would be a good idea to ride on top of a 10-foot wall.
It’s a way of life
Cycling is more than just a hobby, it’s more than just a sport. It can be a way of life. Not only do you talk about cycling, but you also think about bikes and cycling. Cycling clothing is something you like, you care about how you look, you make it all “perfect”.The height of the sockets and the arrangement of the glasses make a difference. And after a ride, you should drink coffee… Whoops, I don’t drink coffee, and on gravel rides, my clothes may be completely incoherent. Sometimes, the style is nice, and we like it. Someone can call it stupid and unnecessary, but every hobby has its own style.
It’s a Great Workout
Cycling is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a form of cardio or aerobic exercise other than running. Even riding a few miles to the supermarket will burn plenty of calories. You will burn even more if you ride trails. Running is also much harder on your joints.
It’s fresh air.
If you work in an office and commute to work each day by car or train, you may feel that your outdoor time is restricted. Cycling allows you to get outside. Getting out on your bicycle is a great way to get outside. Those who live in the city usually find new parks close to where they live or go out on two wheels to get away from the city, and those in rural locations enjoy the peace of the countryside.
“Community Spirit”
Most of us are members of cycling groups or have met people through cycling with whom we ride often. Spending time with others who share your passion is a great experience, and since we cyclists are so passionate about our hobby, we enjoy interacting with other bike enthusiasts. We can push ourselves past our physical and mental barriers by riding with other people, and it feels great to be part of something bigger than ourselves.
“Freedom”
Jumping on a bike gives you a real sense of freedom. It’s just you, the bike, and the open road; you’re in charge for the time you are out on a ride.
A Sense Of Achievement
Many of us set ourselves challenges for our rides, such as tackling steeper and longer gradients, cycling faster, or cycling longer distances. As you gain confidence and conquer your challenges, you feel a sense of accomplishment.
Adrenaline rush
Some adrenaline junkies love speeding down a hill and picking up speed as they go. Although it’s not for everyone, feeling that adrenaline rush is pretty awesome!
Socializing after the ride
We all love the post-ride socializing at the pub with a good feed, a pint, and a recap of what you just did. Nothing compares to the satisfaction of finishing a bike ride.
